Cobana Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. instant coffee
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    3 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. mashed bananas (3 fully ripe bananas)
    1/2 c. broken walnut pieces
Preparation
    Mix and sift flour, baking powder, salt, instant coffee and sugar.
    Add lemon extract and eggs.
    Mix well.
    Add flour mixture alternately with mashed bananas.
    Stir in walnuts.
    Bake in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for 1/2 hour.
    Cool in pan and cut into bars, 4 inches long and 1 inch wide.
    Frost with powdered sugar icing and sprinkle with chopped walnuts.
    Makes 24 bars.
