Cherry Delight - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. saltines
    1/2 c. nuts
    1/2 pt. heavy cream
    1 tsp. confectioners sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until fluffy; add cream of tartar and vanilla. Gradually add 1 cup sugar and beat until stiff.
    Break up saltines and chop nuts.
    Fold into egg whites.
    Spread into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 25 minutes; let cool.
