Ruby Wine Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    6-inch stick cinnamon
    dash of salt
    3/4 c. water
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    2 c. Burgundy wine
    1 qt. cranberry-apple juice
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine sugar, water and spices.
    Bring to a boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.
    Strain out spices and chill the liquid.
    Chill the wine and fruit juice.
    Combine thoroughly the chilled liquids when ready to serve.
    Makes 12 to 14 (4 ounce) servings.
