Ingredients

1 cup butter
1 egg
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

7 Cream butter in a large bowl gradualy adding sugar.
Beat until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients gradualy to creamed mixture.
Chill dough.
Roll on lightly floured surface to 1/8th inch.
Cut with cookie cutters. Sprinkle with granulated sugar if desired.
