Anise Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. oleo
    3 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. anise extract
    1 c. slivered almonds
    1 Tbsp. anise seed
Preparation
    Sift together flour, salt and baking powder three times.
    Beat oleo and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg.
    Add anise extract, seed and flour.
    Beat at slow speed until well mixed.
    Add almond slivers.
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Spread dough on a well-greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
    Remove from oven and cut into 1-inch squares.
    Rebake 10 to 15 minutes.
    Squares will be crisp.
