Chocolate Mint Thins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/4 c. cocoa powder (not a mix)
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine (at room temperature)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate covered mint patties
Preparation
    Sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt onto a sheet of wax paper.
    Beat sugar and butter until well blended at high speed.
    Beat in vanilla and egg.
    Reduce speed to low. Gradually beat in sifted mixture until well blended. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes if it is very soft.
