Corned Beef And Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lbs. corned beef brisket
    1 tsp. peppercorns
    6 potatoes, scrubbed and quartered
    caraway seed
    1 bay leaf
    6 small onions
    6 carrots, halved
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 head cabbage, cut in wedges
Preparation
    Place meat in stove top pan. Cover with water. Add bay leaf and pepper. Cover tightly. Simmer 3 -31/2 hours. Skim fat. Add onion, potato, carrots and caraway. Simmer 20 minutes more. Add cabbage. Simmer 15 minutes. Remove vegetables to warm plate. Glaze with butter. Slice meat and serve.
