Lettuce Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, washed and cut up
    5 stalks chopped celery
    3 to 4 green onion tops
    1 can sliced water chestnuts
    1 red onion, chopped
    1 pkg. frozen green peas
    2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    Romano cheese
    bacon bits
Preparation
    In a large clear salad bowl, layer lettuce, celery, onion tops, water chestnuts, red onion, green peas, mayonnaise and sugar. Sprinkle with Romano cheese.
    Cover with Saran Wrap and refrigerate overnight.
    Sprinkle with bacon bits before serving.
