Divinity Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1/2 c. boiling water
    2 egg whites
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1/4 c. cut up cherries
    1 tsp. lemon extract or vanilla
Preparation
    Boil together the sugar, corn syrup and lemon extract.
    Let boil until brittle in cold water.
    Beat egg whites until stiff; add a little salt.
    Pour boiling syrup over egg whites; stir well. Add walnuts and cherries.
    Pour into greased 8 x 8-inch pan to cool.
