Red Velvet Cake("A Pretty Cake For Christmas") - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cocoa
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 c. Crisco oil or Wesson oil
    1 tsp. vinegar
    2 eggs
    1 (1 oz.) bottle red food coloring
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. butternut flavoring
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add remaining ingredients in order listed; mix thoroughly.
    Grease and flour layer cake pans. Spread in pans.
    Bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes or until cake tests done.
    Remove from pan; let cool.
    (I use only one can of cherry pie or strawberry pie filling between layers as well as filling and frosting following.)
