Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small can coconut
    1 c. chopped nuts
    5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Cream shortenings.
    Add sugar and beat until smooth.
    Add egg yolks and beat well.
    Combine flour and soda and add alternately with buttermilk.
    Stir in vanilla, coconut and nuts.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Pour into three greased and floured 8 or 9-inch pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
