Dinner Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. plain flour
    1/2 c. milk, heated
    1/3 c. shortening
    1/3 c. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. cold water
    1 egg
    1 pkg. yeast
    2 Tbsp. warm water
    1 tsp. sugar
Preparation
    Combine milk, shortening, sugar and salt; mix and heat until shortening melts.
    Add cold water, egg, yeast dissolved in warm water and sugar; sprinkle on top set until dissolved.
    When lukewarm, stir in flour to make dough heavy enough to handle. Place in greased bowl; set to rise double in size.
    Punch down and make into pan rolls; grease pan with shortening.
    Oil top (or place butter on top before baking).
    Makes 24 rolls.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 until brown.
    Butter tops while still hot.
