Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    3 c. sugar
    6 eggs, separated
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. flour (all-purpose), sifted
    2 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    Blend
    Crisco and sugar until creamy; beat in egg yolks one at a\ttime.
    Combine\tsoda,
    salt and buttermilk;
    add to creamed mixture.
    Add
    flour.
    Fold
    in
    stiffly
    beaten
    egg whites;
    add lemon extract.
    Pour into large tube pan and bake at 325\u00b0 for about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
    Yields 12 servings.
