Cherry Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg, beaten
    butter the size of an egg
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 c. cherries, drained
    1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Sift flour and baking powder together.
    Cream butter and sugar; add egg and beat well.
    Add flour alternately with milk. Add cherries and nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 40 minutes.
