Sand Tarts Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. plain flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar; add well beaten egg.
    Sift dry ingredients together and add vanilla.
    Roll out 1/8-inch thick. Sprinkle with sugar (colored if desired).
    Cut in any shape desired.
    Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes.
