Mint Ice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites
    green food color
    few grains salt
    mint flavoring
    1/4 c. lemon juice
Preparation
    Boil water and sugar for 10 minutes.
    Mix lemon juice, salt, mint and desired amount of food color.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Pour into ice tray.
    Freeze to mushy consistency.
    Remove from tray.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Return to tray and freeze until firm.
