Ingredients

1 lb. onions, sliced thin (4 c.)
3 Tbsp. margarine
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
2 cans beef broth
1 1/2 c. water
1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 bay leaf
6 French breads, sliced 1/2-inch thick and toasted
Preparation

Microwave onions and margarine on High for 14 to 15 minutes in a deep 3-quart covered casserole dish, stirring 3 times.
Stir in salt, pepper, flour and paprika until well blended.
Add broth, water and bay leaf.
Cover.
Microwave on High for 10 to 12 minutes, until boiling.
Let stand in oven 3 minutes.
Remove from oven and discard bay leaf.
