Swedish Meat Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. milk
    1 can tomatoes
    potatoes (optional)
    celery (optional)
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 slices bread
    1 egg
    several small onions
    carrots (optional)
    green peppers (optional)
Preparation
    Soak bread in milk until all milk is absorbed by bread.
    Mix thoroughly with ground beef and add egg.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Mixture is very soft so you must use tablespoon to handle. Form into balls by dropping heaping tablespoonfuls into flour, then shape into balls.
    Brown lightly in butter.
    When browned, add to 1 can tomatoes, small onions, potatoes, carrots, celery and green peppers if you like.
    Simmer about 1/2 hour until all is done.
    Will serve 8 people nicely.
