Peanut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. white corn syrup
    1 c. milk or cream
    3 1/2 c. raw peanuts
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    few drops red food coloring
Preparation
    Combine sugar, syrup, milk and peanuts in a heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until a few drops of mixture forms a soft ball when dropped in cool water.
    Take off heat.
    Add butter, vanilla and coloring.
    Beat until mixture is creamy.
    Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper or foil.
    Let cool. Yields 25 to 30 patties.
