Jumbo Raisin Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. raisins
1 c. water
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. allspice

Preparation

Cook raisins and water for 5 minutes and let cool.
I use the microwave oven and just bring it to a boil.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Add raisin mixture. Combine flour and all dry ingredients.
Mix well.
Add nuts and mix batter to the dry ingredients.
Blend well and drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheets.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes or more. Watch, don't overbake them.
Yields 5 to 6 dozen.
You have to know your own oven.
