Banana Tea Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. mashed, ripe bananas
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Beat shortening until creamy in mixing bowl.
    Add sugar gradually and continue beating until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Add bananas and beat well.
    Add flour mixture alternately with banana mixture (a small amount at a time) mixing after each addition only enough to moisten dry ingredients.
    Turn into a greased loaf pan (8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inches) and bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for about 1 hour and 10 minutes or until bread is done. Makes 1 loaf.
