Pumpkin Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. mashed pumpkin (canned is perfect)
    1/4 c. melted shortening
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. raisins
    sugar for topping
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Grease bottoms of muffin cups.
    Beat egg slightly with fork.
    Stir in milk, pumpkin and shortening.
    Sift dry ingredients together and stir in just until flour is moistened (batter should be lumpy).
    Fold in raisins.
    Fill cups 2/3 full. Sprinkle 1/4 teaspoon sugar over each muffin.
    Bake 18 to 20 minutes.
    Makes 12 muffins.
