Hominy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 ears corn
    4 tsp. soda
Preparation
    On top of corn, sprinkle soda, then cover with boiling water. Cook until the eyes and hulls come off easily when put in cold water, usually about 1 1/2 hours (sometimes sooner).
    Wash in cold water and rub between hands until eyes come off.
    Wash in several kettles of water until water is clear.
