Irene Kehlor Smith'S Sugared Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
6 Tbsp. milk
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. orange rind, grated
1/2 tsp. instant coffee (optional)
3 c. or more shelled walnuts (halves)

Preparation

Cook all ingredients (except nuts) until soft ball stage (240\u00b0 on a candy thermometer).
Remove from heat; stir in nut meats. Pour onto waxed paper.
Separate nut halves.
Cool.
