Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. lard
2 eggs
1 c. molasses
6 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ginger
3 tsp. soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Cream together the sugar, lard and eggs, then stir in buttermilk and molasses.
Sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture.
Put in refrigerator overnight or for a few hours.
Roll out and cut.
Sprinkle each with sugar.
Bake at 425\u00b0 until just done, not too long or they will be crisp.
Makes 3 dozen cookies.
