Frozen Waldorf Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 3/4 oz) can crushed pineapple
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. apples, diced
    1/2 c. celery, diced
    1/2 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
    1/2 c. miniature marshmallows
    1 (8 oz) carton Cool Whip
Preparation
    Drain pineapple.
    Combine the syrup, eggs, sugar, lemon juice and salt in double boiler and cook until thick.
    (Mix well with wire whisk before heating to keep eggs from cooking before mixed in - doing this, mixture may be heated directly on stove.)
    Cool.
    Add pineapple, apples, celery, nuts, marshmallows and cool ship. Freeze.
    Serve on lettuce.
    Tastes best when set out a few minutes before serving.
