Old-Fashioned Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. white sugar
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    4 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 c. milk
    4 c. flour
    dried apples or sweetened applesauce
Preparation
    Mix first 9 ingredients well; form stiff dough.
    Divide into 6 balls, roll out and press into 8 or 9-inch pans with fingers. Bake at 400\u00b0 until brown.
    Stack cake using apples between layers and on top.
