Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Cream shortening and brown sugar in bowl until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Reserve 1/4 cup flour.
Sift remaining flour, baking powder and salt together.
Add to creamed mixture; mix well.
Coat pecans with reserved flour.
Stir into mixture.
Press into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Do not overbake.
