Mary'S Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    sweet potatoes
    sugar (1 c. or more)
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Peel and slice potatoes.
    Boil water, sugar, butter and nutmeg. Add potatoes.
    Cut heat back and boil very lightly.
    If you boil hard, they come all to pieces.
    Boil about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Stick toothpick in and see if they are soft; they are done.
    If potatoes get done before your juice thickens, take potatoes out and thicken juice.
    If too thick before potatoes are done, add a little water.
