Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large potatoes (grated)
    1 small onion
    1 pkg. thin sliced smoked ham
    5 c. water
    1 pt. half and half
    2 qt. milk
    1 lb. frozen hash brown potatoes
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 stick oleo or butter
Preparation
    Grate potatoes and onion.
    Cook 20 minutes with water and ham. Add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer 2 hour.
    Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Serve hot with crackers of your choice.
