Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. raisins
1 c. water
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted Gold Medal flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. nuts
raisins
Preparation

Simmer raisins until plump (20 to 30 minutes).
Add enough water to raisin liquid to make 1/2 cup.
Cream together shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Stir in liquid. Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and cloves. Add to creamed mixture.
Stir in oats, raisins and nuts.
Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
