Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. cooking oil
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. buttermilk
    5 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Cream
    sugar,
    oil
    and shortening; add vanilla and egg yolks; beat well.
    Add buttermilk alternately with flour, soda and salt that
    has
    been
    sifted
    together.
    Beat egg whites stiff and combine
    with batter.
    Bake in 3 (9-inch) cake pans for 25 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool and frost.
