Strawberry Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    6 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 c. scalded milk
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    sliced fresh strawberries
    cooked pie shell
Preparation
    In a double boiler, put sugar, cornstarch and salt.
    Add scalded milk.
    Cook until thick.
    Add a small amount of the mixture to the eggs.
    Add egg mixture to contents of the double boiler.
    Cook until mixture thickens.
    Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.
    Chill.
    Add strawberries and pour into pie shell.
    Refrigerate.
    Top with whipped cream when serving.
