Neapolitan Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    2 tsp. dried basil leaves
    1 tsp. fennel seed
    1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper
    1 can tomato sauce
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 (2 lb. 3 oz.) can tomatoes (undrained)
    1 lb. fresh spinach *
    1/2 pkg. (1 lb. size) medium elbow macaroni
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Saute ground beef, onion, green pepper, garlic, basil, fennel seed and red pepper, stirring frequently until meat is browned and vegetables are tender (about 20 minutes).
    Drain off fat.
