Ingredients

4 c. blackberries
1 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. butter
pastry crusts (for 2 pies)
Preparation

Combine fruit, sugar, cornstarch, salt and lemon juice.
Line iron skillet or pie pan with pastry.
Fill with berries.
Dot with butter.
Moisten pastry edge.
Put top crust on.
Cut upper crust in several places.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for about 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 325\u00b0 and bake about 30 minutes more.
