Christine'S Nifty Brownies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
4 eggs
3/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cubes butter (1 c.)
1/2 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease the inside of 8 or 9-inch square baking pan with shortening.
Melt butter over low heat until melted.
In mixing bowl, stir the cocoa and sugar together, then stir in melted butter.
Add the eggs and vanilla and stir.
Add the flour and salt; mix until smooth and add walnuts.
Pour mixture into pan and spread evenly.
Bake until brownies just begin to pull away from sides or until a toothpick comes out clean, about 40 to 50 minutes.
Cool and cut into squares.
Makes 12 to 16.
