Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 stale, white bread slices, cut in half
    1/2 c. shredded coconut
    3 c. milk
    1/4 c. packed brown sugar
    3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    3 eggs
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    dash of salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Grease 10 x 6-inch baking dish. Arrange half of bread halves in bottom of dish; sprinkle with half of coconut.
    Top with remaining bread.
    Heat milk, sugar and butter.
    Beat egg, vanilla and salt.
    Pour milk mixture into eggs, stirring constantly.
    Pour mixture over bread; sprinkle with remaining coconut.
    Place filled baking dish into 9 x 13-inch pan and set on oven rack.
    Carefully pour boiling water into lower pan (1-inch).
    Bake 1 hour or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
