Michigan Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft butter or oleo
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. milk
Preparation
    Beat butter with sugar using a wooden spoon.
    Beat in egg. Add dry ingredients with milk and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Cover and chill for 1 hour.
    Shape dough into balls.
    Place balls on greased cookie sheet.
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Bake 12 to 15 minutes.
