Candy Stick Sweet Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    2 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. celery seed
    3 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 bushel cucumbers (large size)
Preparation
    Slice pickles in half lengthwise; remove seeds and cut pickles into strips.
    Put cut pickles into a large container and pour boiling water over them.
    Let sit all day or overnight.
    Place pickles in jars.
    Bring mixture of other ingredients to a boil and pour over jarred pickles and seal.
