Slippery Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. flour
    1 c. Crisco
    water
    1/2 to whole stewing chicken
    6 qt. water
    2 whole carrots
    2 stalks celery
Preparation
    Mix together flour and Crisco.
    Add small amounts of water until dough is soft and workable.
    Roll out to 1/8-inch thick on floured board.
    Cut into 2 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch strips.
    Add to prepared chicken stock.
