Sweet And Sour Pork Or Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean shoulder pork or chicken breasts, boneless and cubed
    salad oil
    1/2 c. water
    1 (No. 2) can pineapple chunks
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 to 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1/4 c. white vinegar
    1 large onion, diced
    2 medium peppers, cut in strips
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In large skillet with lid, brown pork or chicken in a small amount of oil.
    Add 1/2 cup of water; cover and simmer until tender (about 1 hour).
    Drain pineapple chunks, saving the syrup. Combine the sugar and cornstarch.
    Add the pineapple syrup, vinegar, soy sauce and salt.
    Add this to the meat.
    Cook and stir until the sauce thickens.
    Add the pineapple chunks, pepper strips and onion.
    Cover and cook 15 minutes (until the peppers and onions are soft).
    Serve over rice.
