Mary Spires' Carrot Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. salad oil
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. finely grated carrots
Preparation

Sift together first five ingredients; set aside.
Combine oil and sugar.
Mix well and then add eggs 1 at a time.
Beat well after each addition.
Gradually add dry ingredients, mixing well. Add carrots, mix well.
Turn into three 8-inch layer cake pans which have been greased and floured.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
Remove from pans and cool on racks.
When completely cooled, fill and frost with Nut Frosting.
