Easy German Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 2 lb. ham and ham bone
    2 qt. green beans or 3 (No. 2) cans
    1 onion, chopped
    2 cans navy beans
    3 c. potatoes, diced small
Preparation
    In large Dutch oven, combine ham, ham bone, green beans with liquid and onion.
    Add just enough water to cover.
    Bring to a boil; simmer 1 hour.
    Add navy beans; cook while you prepare potatoes.
    Add potatoes and simmer 30 minutes more.
