Jello Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 can pear halves (16 oz.)
1 pkg. Jell-O gelatin (cherry, 3 oz.)
1 c. boiling water
1 container Cool Whip or 2 c. prepared Dream Whip
Preparation

Drain pear halves, reserving syrup.
Add cold water to syrup to make 1 cup.
Dissolve Jell-O in boiling water.
Add syrup-water mixture.
Chill until thickened, about 1 1/2 hours.
Dice pears and set aside.
Fold 1/2 cup thickened Jell-O into whipped topping.
If necessary, chill again until mixture will mold. Carefully line serving bowl with the Jell-O and whipped topping mixture, molding high at edges to form a shell.
Add pears to remaining Jell-O mixture, carefully spooning into center of Jell-O mold.
Chill until set, about 2 hours.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
