Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. sliced cucumbers
    2 gal. water
    2 c. dry lime
    1/2 gal. vinegar minus 1 c.
    4 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix the lime, water and cucumbers in container.
    Can use a plastic bucket with good results.
    Let stand 24 hours.
    Then, wash at least 5 times in cold water and cover with fresh water.
    Let stand for 3 hours and drain.
    Add vinegar, sugar and salt.
    Mix well.
    Add cucumbers and let stand for another 24 hours.
    Heat for 35 minutes; place in jars and seal.
