Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts, chopped
2 c. (12 oz.) Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Add eggs to creamed mixture.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together.
Add to creamed mixture.
Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from cookie sheet.
Makes about 7 dozen.
