Peanut Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    2/3 c. white Karo
    2 1/2 to 3 c. Spanish peanuts (little over 12 oz. can)
Preparation
    Bring to a boil over medium heat.
    Boil to a soft boil stage (240\u00b0).
    This takes about 25 minutes.
    Stir occasionally.
    Remove and add 4 tablespoons butter, 8 to 10 drops red food color and 1 cup powdered sugar.
    Beat by hand until firm.
    Drop onto buttered wax paper.
    Use a jar ring to make round.
