Freezer Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. shredded cabbage
    1 heaping tsp. salt
    2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. sweet peppers, chopped
    1/2 c. carrots, chopped
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
Preparation
    Mix cabbage and salt; let stand 1 hour.
    Heat sugar, vinegar, water and celery seed to a boil.
    Boil and stir 1 minute.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Drain cabbage; stir in celery, peppers, carrots and onion.
    Stir vinegar mixture into cabbage mixture.
    Spoon into 3 (1 pint) freezer containers.
    Remove from freezer 8 hours before serving.
    Place in refrigerator to thaw.
