Swedish Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk (4 c.)
    1 c. cream
    2/3 c. rice
    1 egg, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cook rice with milk and cream for about 1 1/2 hours in a 2-quart double boiler.
    Remove from heat.
    Add beaten egg, vanilla and sugar.
    Stir well.
    Serve warm or cool.
