24 Hour Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) can pineapple chunks
    1 (11 1/2 oz.) can mandarin oranges
    1 (6 oz.) can white grapes
    2 c. miniature marshmallows or large ones, cut in quarters
    2 Tbsp. pineapple juice
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    3 egg yolks
    pinch of salt
    1 c. whipping cream or substitute Cool Whip
Preparation
    In small pan, combine beaten egg yolks, sugar, 2 tablespoons pineapple juice, butter and salt; stirring constantly on low heat until thickened, about 3 minutes.
    Remove from heat, let cool slightly.
    Beat cream until whipped.
